We did not have a proper check-in when we took over the property and discovered a number of issues that needed to be resolved. However, Kimberley Dafern from Beresford Adams Property Management Department visited the house to see the problems for herself and took prompt action together with the landlord to resolve them. Kimberley was understanding and efficient with a commendable sense of urgency in her desire to have a satisfied tenant. There are still a few residual inconveniences, but in general we are very happy with the service received.
I had the pleasure of being assisted by Naomi throughout the process, and even with the challenge of helping me find the right property to rent that would also allow my dog and be in the right area, Naomi went above and beyond to assist me and has really made what was a daunting experience, rather stress free and exciting! Dreadful estate agency, poor customer service, and back covering when they get it wrong. We were in a rented property and they were instructed by the landlord to carry out the handover, report, and photographs. Prior to and at the handover we were assured by the agent carrying out the handover that we would have a copy of the documentation and then that we would have no concerns about DPS as the property was in good clean condition and only things were wear and tear (in line with our 2 year tenancy), so we would get full deposit returned. Imagine our surprise when the landlord refused to return the deposit and on contacting Beresford Adams they had deleted the entire file - all handover photos, reports, and evidence in their own words "because the landlord was unhappy with the contents"! Their actions deprived us of the only independent handover documentation, and may well ultimately cost us part or all of our deposit. The matter is progressing to Court regarding the landlord and deposit and to the Ombudsmen regarding Beresford Adams and their failure to adhere to their own industry standards as well as their deletion of pertinent handover evidence and files; so further failing in their obligation to maintain records.
