This was my second visit in 2 weeks...my first night and last night of a 2 week walk around the stunning Llyn Peninsula and part of Snowdonia. Both stays were really great. The owners are genuinely friendly and kind...the rooms were warm, spotless, with very comfy beds. Every detail thought of- even providing Welsh shampoo, handcream etc. I enjoyed a tasty evening meal in their onsite chinese restaurant with great waitress service. If you are visiting Bangor, catching a train, (station is a couple hundred metres away!) or starting your walk on this section of the Wales Coast Path l highly recommend staying at the Garden Hotel. You'll feel like part of the family!
Pleasant welcome and good attentive service. Enjoyed the meal for what it was. Far from being authentic Chinese though. Take away the veg and salad from our meat dishes and there was little left! Very pricey with Chinese tea at 3 a head makes it expensive when there is a group of diners.
This was the best Chinese food I've ever had. And I've had home cooked meals cooked by some very close friends. I've eaten Chinese food in London, New York, Paris, and almost every Chinese restaurant in Malta, and this blew them all out of the water. My wife ordered duck, and the flavors... I just can't explain it except to say that if I was a more selfish man I would have stolen her meal and devoured it with no thought to the consequences. I ordered Islander Chicken, which was kind of like chicken curry and I gobbled it was too quickly. My only regret is that I didn't order more food as takeaway so we could eat more the next day.This place really has some amazing food.
Fantastic food, great service. I've been traveling for three weeks and this has to be the best meal I've had the whole trip!
Oh my goodness, where to start. The staff were amazing, so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Then there's the food, stunning, tasty and succulent, all the vegetables were obviously fresh. I haven't enjoyed a meal so much in a long time. Top notch, would give it seven stars out of five. We will definitely recommend you to friends and family Garden hotel and we will be back. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
